Pic of the Week

I took this picture yesterday morning at about 6 on my Wednesday walk-and-talk. It's a shot from the top of the hill looking across the beach towards the Mornington pier. It doesn't do the feeling I got when looking out at it justice. For me, the stunning peaceful morning after the last few rough days, was a great reflection of life. That often there is peace to be found after a “stormy period” in our life.

By the way, my Wednesday walk-and-talk is something I’ve been doing with a mate for 6 years. Every Wednesday he and I catch up on the phone for an hour and walk whilst we talk. We solve all the problems of the world, talk philosophies on life, about the challenges of fatherhood, and much more. It's always been a great anchor in the crazy that is sometimes life. Who do you wonder about the world with?

Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.

1) A great place to get supplies...

AR Food Home Delivery. A great Aussie wholesaler who traditionally supplies the hospitality industry is opening its doors to the public. Free delivery for orders over $150, they have everything from flour to fettuccini and tea to toilet paper. Most of it comes in bulk sizes, think kilograms rather than grams. Amazing stuff like 600m rolls of cling wrap.

2) A change we have noticed in the practice...

Insidious Back Pain. Over the last week, we have started to notice an increase in the number of new clients presenting with back pain of unknown (insidious) origin. In many of the cases, they have developed a serious condition, including a few with ruptured discs. It’s similar to what we often see in the leadup to Christmas. The common denominator is stress. Stress and its effect on chronic cortisol and adrenaline production set up the tissues of the body for injury, alongside reducing immune, reproductive, digestive health.

Who do you know that needs a spinal check-up?

3) A game-changer I bought this week...

Croakies Sunglasses Strap. Gone are the days when the family would hear “has anyone seen my glasses”. I have resisted for a year buying the dreaded gold chain to hang my reading glasses around my neck. The challenge is I don't need them all the time so they would be left somewhere, that wasn't where I needed them. Then I bit the bullet and wandered into BCF and found a cool Dad version. The family is more excited than me.

Ps. A quote I’m wondering about right now... “They say the world has become too complex for simple answers. They are wrong.” Ronald Reagan

I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, moral of the story, or learning you would share.

Have a ripper finish to your week.
