3 THINGS THURSDAY - 16th May 2019

Here are the top three things have made a difference in my week.

A video I've watched...

I AM the documentary.
 Is a film written, directed, and narrated by Tom Shadyac. (Pet detective etc) The film asks the question: "What is wrong with the world, and what can we do about it?", and explores Shadyac's personal journey after a bicycle accident in 2007 which led him to the answers "the nature of humanity", "the world's ever-growing addiction to materialism", and "human connections". A great film to get you thinking about what really important.

A book I'm reading...

The 5am Club.
 A great book that talks about starting your day without the noise. Getting up before the rest of the world wakes up and set your sails for the day. Written in a story format it makes for easy reading and creates a compelling argument for setting that alarm clock may be a little earlier than you are used to. By the way, I started to read this book whilst I was away in Thailand a couple of weeks ago. I had the best early morning runs down the dusty dark streets, and got to experience the amazing early markets coming to life.

Something I listened to...

The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast - David Goggins Interview.
 Wow, this interview gives you some insight into how tough some people are willing to do life, and their ability to soldier on despite physical and mental pain. Sounds dramatic but I found it inspirational, and a reminder of what's possible next time I have a blister on my little toe. Note: I've given you the Youtube link but its available on all podcast channels
WARNING: Long interview (2 hours), lots of swearing, and opinions. May not be everyone's cup of tea.
