3 THINGS THURSDAY - 18 May 2023

Over the weekend with my family in tow, we drove to Flinders for a breath of fresh air.
Flinders is one of my all-time favourite places to visit to just recoup and admire its beauty.
The cliffs, the water, the glowing sunsets.
Bliss.

Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.

1) Something I’ve learned...

Dry Needling

Over this past week I attended a two-day workshop filled with like-minded people to learn all about dry needling and cupping.  I mean… Needles.. I was apprehensive, but after a weekend participating and practicing, the apprehension is no longer. My mind was blown and I walked away full of excitement and ready to offer these new services to my amazing clients. I’ve got the new course high, and ready to tackle some more professional development in the upcoming months. Watch this space :)

2) Something I'm loving...

Discovering more of the Peninsula

Every week (or fortnight) with the family, I  have been hitting the pavement and exploring more of the Peninsula. The abundance of nature walks we have right on our doorstep is incredible. We truly live in one of the most beautiful places in the country and so easily take it for granted. Nothing feels better than inhaling the fresh air surrounded by trees and nature, it just feels like it hits deeper into the lungs. You know what I mean? I’d love to hear of any hidden gems you might know and happy to recommend.

3)
Something I’m reading...

Warrior Mom

I recently purchased a new mattress (LIFE CHANGING) and whilst we were there and testing out all the incredible clouds of slumber, we were chatting away with Kay. A wonderfully helpful sales rep who has been a driving force and warrior for her son who was in a life changing accident and suffered spinal cord injuries. Kay's story was so compelling and she graciously gifted me her book, Warrior Mom. A captivating tale of how Kay and her loved ones rallied around her son and fought against the odds (and hospitals) to get her son literally up on his feet again and moving. With so much push back from the hospitals, Kay put together her own team of health providers and healers to fight and never gave up. A real inspirational story and the power of a mothers love and determination to not give up and have her son bid ridden for the rest of his life.

I wish you all the best on your journey, make a ritual of looking for the gold in your life, it is there, you just got to look.

P.s. The quote of the week is...

“The only person you are destined to become, is the person you decide to be.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, the moral of the story, or the learning you would share.

Have a ripper finish to your week.

Cheers, Dr. Ben
