3 THINGS THURSDAY - 20 July 2023

Sourdough in the making.


Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.


1) Quality time..


As I approach my 37th Birthday and reflecting over my past year, it’s becoming more and more apparent that I am happy with the people in my life. Over the years, my inner circle has gotten smaller and smaller and I used to struggle with this. I’m focusing on the quality of what these people bring to my life. I no longer want the drama, I want the good times, the honest times, to be myself without worrying about the judgement. Is this me finally peaking into adulthood? I’ve often wondered what that would feel like? I’ve definitely not got it all together, but it’s a work in progress.


2) Tackling my nemesis...

Bread

Before I started as a Massage Therapist, I’ve spent the past 18 years working in hospitality, with at least 15 of those as a chef, confidently presenting many meals to my customers. However…. Baking is not a strength. It must have something to do with following recipes, throwing in ingredients and hoping for the best doesn’t seem to work with baking. Bread in particular has been my nemesis and I’ve not been able to produce anything worthy of serving to anyone. I’m currently on day 4 of my sourdough starter, I’m not confident, it hasn’t bubbled like I’ve read it should  but fingers crossed this weekend I’ll have my first successful sourdough. Stay tuned 

Any tips… PLEASE send them my way, I need all the help I can get!


3) Saying YES more..


A little follow up from my last three things Thursday, and that was saying yes more often. Whilst I’ve not said yes to everything, I have been using it more and more. This has resulted in spending more quality time with my family and having more meaningful conversations with my daughter. So far so good, still contemplating that YES day sometime in the future.
