3 THINGS THURSDAY - 13 July 2023

We might spend lots of time together during the week,
but it's half conversation before, in between and after our shifts and clients.
Spending time together and being able to have an uninterrupted,
complete conversation with the people you often see the most was a great day spent.


Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.


1) Selfcare..

Starting with breakfast.


Over the past two weeks I have been making a conscious effort in starting my day right with a good nourishing savoury breakfast. For me, this has been a saving grace for my energy levels, alongside my mood and food choices for the remainder of the day. It has meant I have meals prepped to some degree making it easier on those busy mornings. I love a high-quality protein breakfast, for me this past week it has been some slow cooked beef and brisket, with a whole heap of vegetables (carrots, zucchini, sweet potato and onion), topped with two poached eggs. It’s warm and hearty, keeping me full for the morning and feeling like I have started the day off correctly! Highly recommend it.


2) Team retreat...
The Summit Adventure Camp


What a weekend!! The team and I went out to The Summit in Trafalgar on Saturday. Was a great way to see everyone outside of clinic. The Summit is about taking our strengths, physical and mental to the next limit, pushing us to what see our highest potential. My gosh did some of it test me. But, looking back on it, it was one of the best opportunities given to me to help realise how much fear I have over somethings….. well, it’s time to start busting through it.


3) My favorite app...
Insight Timer


I have had this app for years and listen to it every day. I didn’t realise how much it meant to me until someone accidently deleted it (kids…..). It has a great collection of different styles of mediations, short courses and music. It allows you to select the length and style of meditation you are after and creates suggestions based on your criteria. A great app if you are starting out on your meditation journey. Even if it is for only 3 minutes a day... Makes for big changes.
